Stripe

Summerbase reads your customers, subscriptions and their history from Stripe. It doesn’t change them.

Each Stripe product becomes a plan, and its prices become prices on that plan. You can rename plans in Summerbase or merge them with plans from other sources. See Plans and prices.

In Summerbase, go to Settings, then Sources, choose Add source, then Stripe, and follow the steps there. They tell you exactly what Summerbase needs from Stripe, and if something is missing, Summerbase says what.

To try Summerbase with Stripe’s test mode, connect it in a separate project, so test data stays out of your real figures.

Once connected, Summerbase imports your customers, subscriptions and their history. Large accounts can take a while. A banner shows the progress, and your figures are complete once it finishes.

When it’s done, your project’s reporting currency is set to the currency most of your subscriptions bill in. You can change it in Metrics settings.

Summerbase counts what your customers are subscribed to pay, before tax. A few things to know:

  • Usage-based prices aren’t counted yet. They show as worth nothing.
  • One-off charges aren’t counted. MRR measures subscriptions only.
  • Past-due subscriptions still count while Stripe keeps them active.

If Stripe stops giving Summerbase access, Summerbase disconnects the source and emails your organization’s owner and admins. Nothing is lost. Connect again from the source’s page.

The source’s page also has a log of what happened, and actions to reconnect, import everything again, or disconnect.
